Laurel Poetry Collective wishes to thank the following individuals
and organizations for their generosity and support in promoting our
work and helping us fulfill our mission:
- Richard Bend, our lawyer.
- Michael Nelson, our C.P.A.
- Pam Baird, at Park Midway Bank, for guiding us through the legal and monetary paths we needed to follow in our four-year project.
- Kathy Peterson's folks, and Lois and John Welshons, for donations that helped us launch our first year of publications and broadsides.
- All the bookstores who are taking a chance on a collective that has chosen to not operate in all the same ways as other publishers: Amazon Bookstore, Hamline University Bookstore, Micawber's, Orr Books, Paper Patisserie, The Shop at The Minnesota Center for Book Arts (MCBA)/Open Book, United Theological Seminary, Luther Seminary Bookstore. Special thanks to Margie and David at Rag and Bone Bookstore, who carried all our books, and sponsored readings by our members--we are so sorry to see you close your doors, and we send best wishes to you both.
- MCBA for support and sponsoring our biggest reading of 2004.
- Composers Midge McCloy, Warren Park, and Diane Benjamin who set our words to music and the women's sextet Seven Gifts including Ann Fleck, Peggy Summers, Donna Ross, Georgia Greeley, Ellen Biales, Carol Summers, and Director & Pianist, Carsten Slostad who performed them.
- Hamline University.
- Mary Rockcastle, Dean of the Graduate School of Liberal Studies, Hamline University, for sponsoring our readings on campus, and for offering to feature our collective in Vacouver, British Columbia, for the international gathering of the Associated Writing Programs (AWP).
- All bookstores, coffee shops, churches, synagogues,
universities, colleges, and libraries that have happily
sponsored our readings and art installations, and invited us back.
- All 23 members of the collective for offering time and talent
to this new venture.
